Vamos a México

Dear Daniel,

Today I’m in Mexico, I flew to Cancun to visit the Xenotes before I’m on the other side of the world and it’s too far to come. It’s much hotter here than in Houston right now and the beaches are as beautiful as ever. I took the ADO bus into the town center and I’m pretty sure I saw dollar signs in the taxi drivers eyes when he saw me walk over.

I’m staying away from the tourist part of town in a small casita in the north part. I’m close to isla mujeres which I’ve been told I have to visit. The taxi driver told me I should have gone to Holbox if I wanted a beautiful beach! It’s a beautiful untouched island and only 10 people are allowed on it each day.

I feel like since I met you I’ve forgotten all my Spanish so when I try to speak now all I hear are mistakes and me forgetting words.

I’m on the beach tonight eating at a local place and I’ve asked them to make me the things they would normally eat (it’s fried fish) and drink.

I’m glad to escape Houston and the grey/cold for a few days. I’m not really sure how I will cope when I get to China because I hear it gets reallllly cold over there. Not a a fan, at all.

One of the girls told me to check out Playa Delfines and then 2 others suggested Playa Ballena so if the weather holds out tomorrow I’ll be catching the R1 from Puerto Juarez down there.

I’m really looking forward to switching off from “life” and reading my books all week, maybe listen to some podcasts and music and doing nothing! I definitely need this break!

Bueno, ahora voy a comer.
